Curriculum

At Honey Bee Nursery, we cater to children aged 3 months to 4 years, embracing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Our curriculum is meticulously designed to support children in their emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development, fostering independence, responsibility, and a genuine eagerness to progress in learning.

Aligned with Development Matters, the EYFS framework serves as our guide, ensuring that each area of learning and development is seamlessly integrated through purposeful play, combining both adult-led and child-initiated activities. Our dedicated team of qualified professionals utilizes a continuous cycle of observation, planning, and implementation to tailor the curriculum to the unique stages of development, interests, and needs of each child.

At Honey Bee Nursery, we firmly believe that every child deserves the best start in life, providing the support needed to unlock their full potential. Recognizing the rapid development in early years, we acknowledge that experiences from birth to age five significantly shape a child’s future. A secure, safe, and joyful childhood is not only important in its own right but also establishes the foundation for children to maximize their abilities and talents as they grow.

By adhering to the EYFS, we set the stage for a well-rounded education. This framework, offering standards and expectations for children up to four years old, ensures their well-rounded learning, development, and overall health and safety. The EYFS focuses on preparing children for school readiness, providing a diverse range of knowledge, experiences, and skills that create a robust foundation for future learning and school life.

Through our commitment to the EYFS, we aim to:

  • Ensure quality and consistency in our nursery, allowing every child to make substantial progress without anyone being left behind.
  • Establish a secure foundation through learning and development opportunities tailored to the needs and interests of each individual child, regularly assessed and reviewed.
  • Foster partnership working between teachers and parents or carers.
  • Uphold equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, guaranteeing the inclusion and support of every child in our care.
